La Chamba is the most representative line of Terracota Home with a tradition dating pre-Columbian times. The potters make a wide range of products for domestic use employing both red and black clays. Their pottery is characterized not only by the process used to polish and shine the clay with stones prior to firing it, but also by the fact that no kiln is used , as the clay is fired by surrounding it with wood that is burnt in the open air. 

The products have a major advantage compared to most ceramic cooking utensils because they can be in direct contact with flame or heat sources without damage.
